Hawthorne Civil is pleased to continue its ongoing relationship with BMD Constructions following the award of the concrete works package for the Douglas Water Treatment Plant Upgrade in Townsville.
The scope of works included the construction of two new lamella clarifiers for Townsville City Council, forming a key component of the broader upgrade to the treatment plant. Once completed, the upgrade increased the plant’s treatment capacity to 90 megalitres per day, strengthening the city’s ability to supply clean, reliable water, particularly during peak demand in the wet season.
Delivered in close collaboration with BMD Constructions, the project highlights Hawthorne Civil’s capability in delivering high-quality concrete structures within critical water infrastructure environments, supporting long-term resilience and service reliability for the Townsville community.
