Project Details

As part of the Coomera Connector project, Hawthorne Civil delivered a major package of bridge and structural concrete works, comprising a nine-span pedestrian bridge and a two-span road bridge over Helensvale Road. The pedestrian bridge provides a safe, traffic-free crossing for pedestrians and cyclists, serving as a key piece of active transport infrastructure, while the road bridge supports improved traffic flow along the corridor.

In addition to the bridge works, Hawthorne Civil completed extensive drainage and structural packages, including the installation of more than 280 metres of reinforced concrete box culverts, multiple reinforced concrete pipelines, cast in-situ retaining walls, and culvert structures. Works were undertaken across both greenfield and brownfield environments and required careful staging and coordination alongside multiple contractors.

Hawthorne Civil also supported the project through a labour hire and plant supply role, providing experienced FRP personnel—including supervisors, formworkers, steel fixers and concreters—under a cost-plus delivery model. This support extended to the provision of earthmoving plant, cranage and formwork systems, enabling flexible resourcing to meet changing program demands.

Delivered within a highly coordinated live project environment, the works demonstrate Hawthorne Civil’s capability to deliver complex bridge structures and supporting infrastructure within major transport corridors.
