Project Details

The Foleyvale Crossing project involved the construction of a new 90-metre, five-span girder bridge over the MacKenzie River, as part of a jointly funded initiative between the Department of Transport and Main Roads and Sunwater, supporting the broader Rookwood Weir development.

Works included reinforced concrete pavement construction, bridge structures and road approaches. The site’s remote location required a FIFO/DIDO workforce and posed logistical challenges for material supply, necessitating detailed planning to maintain program momentum.

Environmental management was critical due to the proximity to the waterway. Strict controls were implemented to mitigate contamination risks during bridge and pavement construction activities.

Despite challenges including flood risk and access constraints, the project was completed ahead of schedule due to efficient staging and expedited FRP works. The delivery demonstrates strong capability in both R2 roadworks and B2 bridge construction, under complex environmental and logistical conditions.
