Funded by the NSW and Federal Governments, the upgraded bridge will be a key piece of infrastructure for the Wagga Wagga High Productivity Freight Route, which will provide better access to the Bomen Industrial Park and connections to the Olympic Highway.
Working closely with BMD, Hawthorne Civil was involved in the construction of the new 5 span superstructure over the Murrumbidgee River. A Staged process was adopted to ensure stability of existing bridge substructure while construction of the new superstructure could be undertaken.
Hawthorne Civil was responsible for the supply and installation of all access, formwork, reinforcement (including post set), placement of concrete and installation of precast deck units (including grouting and stressing). We also assisted with the demolition works of the existing bridge.
Our specialist crews were used throughout the project to ensure high-quality and timely delivery.
